At just 12, Chris began pioneering mathematical research. His self-derived "Finite-part Continuous Function Formula" explores groundbreaking applications in graphing and function reduction, blending creativity with analytical rigor.
His resilience extends beyond academics. Diagnosed with a rare lung condition as a child, Chris was told to avoid sports—yet he became a champion cross-country skier in Beijing before transitioning to become a record-breaking swimmer in California. This season, he shattered two relay records in the Bay Area’s fiercely competitive league. Beyond the pool, he composes original music—including Let’s Go Pirates, a school anthem now embraced by students and staff—which reflects his commitment to community and creativity in every form.
Due to financial constraints, Chris hasn’t been able to train year-round or return home often. A scholarship would bridge this gap, allowing him to focus on his dual goals: advancing STEM research and pursuing his athletic dreams.
“I am deeply grateful for your assistance,” he says. "Your belief in me isn’t just financial aid, it is a fuel that empowers me to focus more on my goals – and a lesson in how I’ll one day lift others up."
